Third Wave Fund: Mobilize Power Fund
Third Wave Fund's Mobilize Power Fund is a rapid response fund that supports the leadership of young women of color, trans, gender non-conforming, queer, and intersex youth under 35 in social movements.
Organizations do not need a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status or a fiscal sponsor to receive funding. We make this clear to strongly encourage grassroots organizations, groups, and collectives led by and for young people of color and low-income communities to apply. Not sure if you're a fit? Email programs@thirdwavefund.org or call us at 917-387-1262 x5.
Proposals are accepted all year and reviewed on a monthly basis. Deadlines and materials for 2020 are below.
Due to the urgency of COVID-19, we are shifting the frequency of our Mobilize Power Fund cycle in order to get more funds out more quickly to those on the frontlines of this epidemic. Through the end of May, we will have biweekly application deadlines. Applications need to be received on the dates below by midnight in your time zone to be considered for our review. We also encourage people to take advantage of our option to take project narratives over the phone. For any questions or to set up a phone call, email programs@thirdwavefund.org.
- Proposals can be submitted at any time but must be submitted by that month's review deadline date to be considered.
- Groups are notified within two weeks after the review deadline. Checks are generally mailed within two to three weeks of notification. We may be able to process requests faster for emergencies.
- Grants can be made for up to $10,000 USD. Larger grants may be made on a case-by-case basis.
- Partnership or coalitions of two or more groups can request up to $20,000 USD.
- Groups may not be granted more than once within a 6-month period. Groups applying more than once within the year will be considered upon discretion. Grantees who have not completed their follow-up reporting are ineligible for funding until completion.
